Analysis of SLAMF6 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0656-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: SLAM family member 6
Also known as: KALI; NTBA; CD352; KALIb; Ly108; NTB-A; SF2000
The protein encoded by this gene is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the CD2 subfamily of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This encoded protein is expressed on natural killer cells (NK), T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes. It undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation and is associated with Src homology 2 domain protein (SH2D1A) and SH2 domain containing phosphatases (SHPs). It functions as a co-receptor during NK cell activation. It also mediates inhibitory signaling in NK cells from patients with X-linked lymphoproliferative disease. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
