Tenascin-C is a macromolecular glycoprotein in the extracellular matrix, involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, adhesion, apoptosis and other processes. Tenascins (TNs) are a family of proteins present in the extracellular matrix. Most TNs are produced by interstitial fibroblasts, including Tenascin-C, Tenascin-R, Tenascin-X and Tenascin-W.
