Peptides (from Ancient Greek πεπτός (peptós) 'digested', from πέσσειν (péssein) 'to digest') are short chains of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. Long chains of amino acids are called proteins. Chains of fewer than twenty amino acids are called oligopeptides, and include dipeptides, tripeptides, and tetrapeptides. Peptides often act as hormones and thus constitute biologic messengers carrying information from one tissue through the blood to another. Two common classes of hormones are peptide and steroid hormones.
RabMAb® technology is a unique and proprietary method for developing monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) from rabbits rather than the conventional method of using mice. This delivers antibodies with the high affinity of a rabbit polyclonal and the high specificity of a monoclonal.
