Arctiin is a lignan found in many plants of the family Asteraceae, particularly the greater burdock (Arctium lappa) and Centaurea imperialis, and in Trachelospermum asiaticum, Saussurea heteromalla, and Forsythia viridissima. It is the glucoside of arctigenin.
This service provides determination of arctiin content in Fructus Arctii by high performance capillary electrophoresis (HPCE) method. The borax solution of 37.5 mmol concentration containing 12.5% methanol is chosen as buffer solution. The experiment is performed at a constant voltage of 16 kV and UV detection wavelength of 277 nm. The content of arctiin in Fructus Arctii was 26.45mg/g (RSD=3.34%) (n=7). The recovery is in the range of 87.6%-111.8% (n=5). This method is suitable for the detection of the content of arctiin in Fructus Arctii.
