Description

The patented multi-channel optical design of the SpectraMax® 190 Absorbance Microplate Reader emulates a dual beam spectrophotometer, directly measuring each sample in the plate and eliminating measurement errors due to variations in light output between fibers on other instruments, The obtained data report is more reliable. The eight-channel system provides high accuracy and speed when reading 96-well microplates for endpoint measurements, kinetic analysis, and spectral scanning. The SpectraMax 190 Microplate Reader's optical system is built around a monochromator, allowing the selection of up to six wavelengths at a time for absorbance detection in the UV-Vis wavelength range (190 nm - 850 nm). The narrow bandwidth provides greater measurement accuracy and linearity over the widest assay range, including DNA quantification in the UV range.
