Molecular Devices' SpectraMax® 340 PC 384 Absorbance Microplate Reader provides the necessary tools for absorbance measurements in the visible range. Features of the model include temperature control, a robot-compatible interface, and data analysis software.
Each SpectraMax® 340 PC 384 Microplate Reader has an optical system built around a monochromator. Operators can conveniently select up to 6 wavelengths at a time for absorbance detection in the visible wavelength range 340 nm - 850 nm. The narrow bandwidth used by the model increases measurement accuracy and broad analysis over the linear range. Users can expect high precision and speed when reading 96- and 384-well microplates during endpoint measurements, kinetic analysis, and spectral scanning.
The multi-channel optical design of the SpectraMax microplate reader mimics a dual-beam spectrophotometer. This unique design allows each sample to be measured directly on the plate. As a result, measurement errors due to variations in light output between fibers are eliminated, increasing the reliability of reported data.
Equipped with patented PathCheck® path length measurement technology, this microplate reader converts each microplate well into a fixed path length tube. Other system properties include temperature-independent normalization properties (to correct for changing well volumes) and direct absorbance-based concentration calculations.
The SpectraMax 340 PC 384 Microplate Reader comes with Molecular Devices' leading data acquisition and analysis software. Seamless integration of the StakMax® Microplate Handling System with data acquisition and analysis software is possible.
