Prostate-on-a-Chip

Prostate-on-a-chip is a microfluidic device that consists of a transparent microfluidic chip with multi-layered channels that are lined with human prostate cells. These cells are cultured in a three-dimensional scaffold that closely mimics the architecture of the prostate tissue, including the stroma, epithelial cells, and blood vessels. The chip also contains a network of microfluidic channels that allow for the continuous flow of nutrients and fluids to the prostate cells, simulating the natural microenvironment of the prostate.

What We Can Do for You

Prostate -on-a-chip technology offers a powerful platform for studying various aspects of prostate biology in a more physiologically relevant manner than traditional cell culture models, including hormone signaling, cell-cell interactions, inflammation, and the development of prostate cancer. STEMart is able to utilize prostate-on-a-chip to recreate specific conditions found in the prostate and provide the following services:

  • Disease modeling: Simulate various prostate diseases, such as prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and prostatitis and study the behavior of diseased prostate cells to gain valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of these conditions and develop new therapeutic strategies.
  • Drug screening: Screen potential drug candidates for treating prostate diseases, and test the efficacy and toxicity of different drugs on prostate cells in a controlled and reproducible environment.
  • Personalized medicine: Study the response of individual patients' prostate cells to different treatments, facilitating development of more effective and targeted therapies.
  • Understanding prostate biology: Study the complex interactions between different cell types in the prostate gland and their role in prostate development, function, and pathology.
  • Biomarker discovery: Identify novel biomarkers for diagnosing and monitoring prostate diseases by analyzing the gene expression, protein secretion, and metabolic activity of prostate cells on the chip.
