Description

The Recombinant Human B7-2 Protein manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for T-cell co-stimulation.
Leukocyte Differentiation Antigen 86 (CD86), also known as B Lymphocyte Activation Antigen B7-2, is a type I membrane protein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is primarily expressed in dendritic cells, Langerhans cells, peripheral blood dendritic cells, memory B cells, and germinal center B cells. Additionally, B7-2 is expressed at low levels on monocytes and can be upregulated by interferon-gamma (γ-interferon). CD86 serves as a ligand for two different proteins on the surface of T cells: CD28 (for self-regulation and intercellular binding) and CTLA-4 (for attenuated regulation and cell detachment). CD86, in coordination with CD80, initiates T cell activation. Recent research suggests that B7-2 promotes the generation of mature APC subsets and enhances APC function and survival. Furthermore, B7 proteins participate in innate immune responses by activating the NF-κB signaling pathway within macrophages. Therefore, CD86 is considered a promising candidate for immunotherapy.
Storage Information:
The lyophilized (freeze-dried) form can be stored at 4°C for 24 months, while the reconstituted liquid can be stored at -20°C for 6-12 months, with a recommendation to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
