Simultaneous TGA-DTA/DSC is designed for the measurement of heat flow (DSC) and weight change (TGA) in the material as a function of temperature or time in a controlled atmosphere. Measuring these two materials propertis at the same time not only improves productivity, but also simplifies the results interpretation. The obtained information allows a distinction to be made between endothermic and exothermic events without related weight loss (eg, melting and crystallization) and those that involve a weight loss (e.g., degradation).
