Interleukin 33 (IL-33), also known as IL-1F11, is produced by Th2 cells, mast cells and innate lymphocytes. It is mainly involved in the immune response mediated by Th2 cells, regulating the function of mast cells, and as an intracellular nuclear factor, it can regulate the characteristics of gene transcription. IL-33 can cause and regulate multiple inflammatory responses and may play a role in chronic inflammation and autoimmune diseases.
