Proinsulin is derived from Proinsulin, which removes its propeptide through proteolytic hydrolysis to produce proinsulin composed of 86 amino acids. Proinsulin enters the Golgi body along with microvesicles in cytoplasm. Under the action of proteolytic enzymes, the three arginine linked chains of 31, 32 and 60 are cut off, and the chain is broken to produce C-peptide without function, and insulin is produced at the same time. It's secreted out of B cells and into the bloodstream.
