A cDNA library is a collection of clones formed by the reverse transcription of all mRNAs transcribed during a developmental period and ligated to a vector.
A full-length cDNA library is a population of DNA subunits obtained by reverse transcription from a complete set of mRNA subunits in an organism, which is a complete copy of the mRNA subunits. Full-length cDNA libraries not only provide complete mRNA information, but also can be used to obtain mRNA splicing information by gene sequence comparison, protein sequence prediction and in vitro expression, and gene function study by reverse genetics.
