The Recombinant Human IL-4 Protein manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects. IL-4 plays a role in inhibiting the excessive growth of macrophages during the induction of monocytes into dendritic cells (DCs), thereby guiding monocytes to differentiate into DCs. In the absence of IL-4 in the culture system, monocytes will differentiate into macrophages. IL-4 also has the ability to reduce the cell surface expression of the CD14 molecule. The decrease in CD14 expression is an important marker for monocyte differentiation into DCs. The combined action of GM-CSF and IL-4 can direct monocytes to differentiate into immature DCs (iDCs). At this stage, DCs exhibit strong antigen uptake and processing capabilities but have weak antigen presentation ability. They moderately express MHC class I and II molecules, as well as B7 family molecules (CD80, CD86, etc.), but do not express CD14. Lyophilized preparations can be stored at 2~8°C for 24 months. For aliquoting, they can be reconstituted with injection water, physiological saline, culture medium, or PBS. After reconstitution, divide into smaller portions and store at -20°C for 6 months or at -80°C for 12 months. The final concentration after dilution should not be lower than 100μg/mL. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
