MCP proteins are chemoattractants and can activate monocytes, activated T cells, eosinophils, NK cells, and immature dendritic cells. The MCP family exhibits cross-species reactivity.
Recombinant human MCP-1 is an 8.6 kDa protein consisting of 76 amino acid residues, including 4 highly conserved cysteine residues commonly found in CC chemokines.
