The Recombinant Murine CD4 Protein manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for T-cell activation and immune response studies. T-cell surface glycoprotein CD4 is a single-pass type I membrane protein. CD4 comprises three Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains and one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. It is an integral membrane glycoprotein with a crucial role in the immune response, serving multiple functions in responses against both external and internal threats. In T-cells, CD4 primarily functions as a coreceptor for the MHC class II molecule:peptide complex. This complex presents antigens derived from extracellular proteins. CD4 interacts simultaneously with the T-cell receptor (TCR) and the MHC class II molecule presented by antigen-presenting cells (APCs). This interaction recruits the Src kinase LCK to the vicinity of the TCR-CD3 complex, initiating various intracellular signaling pathways. These pathways lead to lymphokine production, motility, adhesion, and the activation of T-helper cells. In other cell types, such as macrophages or natural killer (NK) cells, CD4 plays a role in differentiation/activation, cytokine expression, and cell migration via a TCR/LCK-independent pathway. Additionally, CD4 participates in the development of T-helper cells in the thymus and triggers the differentiation of monocytes into functional mature macrophages. Storage Information: Lyophilized samples can be stored at 2-8°C for 24 months. If aliquoting is necessary, the samples can be reconstituted with injection-grade water, physiological saline, culture medium, or PBS. After reconstitution, they should be aliquoted, stored at -20°C for 6 months, or at -80°C for 12 months. The post-dilution concentration should not be less than 100 μg/mL, and it is important to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
