Description

The Recombinant Human EpCAM Protei manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for cell adhesion and signaling.
EpCAM, also known as Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule, is a broadly expressed epithelial differentiation antigen found on almost all cancer cells, serving as an antigen recognized by the 17-1A (mAb) antibody. Its role in cell biology is intricate and is linked to the cadherin-catenin pathway, making it crucial for intracellular signaling and polarity via the fundamental Wnt pathway. Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (EpCAM) is known to be expressed in the majority of epithelial malignancies and is reported as a potential tumor marker or target for molecular therapy. The crosstalk between EpCAM and N-cadherin involves PI3K, leading to the disruption of adherens junctions in epithelial cells. In recent years, Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (EpCAM) has gained increasing attention as a prognostic factor for breast cancer.
The lyophilized product can be stored at 4°C for 24 months, while the reconstituted liquid can be stored at -20°C for 6-12 months, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Specification

Expression Host: Human HEK293 cells
Source: Human

Protein Sequence: The DNA sequence encodes human EpCAM (NCBI Reference Sequence: NP_002345.2), expressed with a His tag at the C-terminus.
Molecular Weight: Recombinant human EpCAM protein contains 241 amino acids, with a predicted theoretical molecular weight of 29.1 kD.
Purity: ≥95%, confirmed by SDS-PAGE gel and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis.
Endotoxin: <0.1 EU/μg
Biological Activity: The ability to induce adhesion of L cells (mouse fibroblast cell line) to a human EpCAM-coated plate is determined. The ED50 for this effect is 1-2.4 μg/ml when 5×10^4 cells/well are added to the plate coated with recombinant human EpCAM and human fibronectin.
Purification Method: Chromatographic purification
Composition: Sterile PBS (pH 7.4) freeze-dried powder containing 6% mannitol.
