Analysis of APCS Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0253-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: amyloid P component, serum
Also known as: SAP; PTX2; HEL-S-92n
The protein encoded by this gene is a glycoprotein belonging to the pentosidine protein family with a typical pentamer structure. These family members share considerable sequence homology, which is thought to be the result of gene duplication. Binding of the encoded protein to the pathological amyloid crossfold protein suggests a possible role as a chaperone. This protein is also thought to control the degradation of chromatin. Studies have shown that the protein binds to apoptotic cells at an early stage, raising the possibility that it is involved in the processing of apoptotic cells in vivo.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
