Analysis of Vitamin C (VC) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1318-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.35 μg/mL
Detection range: 0.35-20 μg/mL
Precision: inter-lot difference of 3.3%, intra-lot difference of 2.3%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 533 nm

Principle

In the presence of phenanthroline, VC can reduce ferric ion to ferric ion, which can form pink complex with phenanthroline under certain circumstances, with maximum absorption wavelength at 536 nm.

Applications

It is suitable for detecting VC content in serum (plasma), animal and plant tissues.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: serum, plasma, animal and plant tissue
