Analysis of Glucose (Glu) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1343-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.05 mmol/L
Detection range: 0.05-30 mmol/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 1.3%, intra-lot difference of 1.2%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 505 nm

Principle

Glucose oxidase (GOD, EC 1.1.3.4) can catalyze the oxidation of glucose into gluconic acid and produce hydrogen peroxide. In the presence of chromogenic substances, peroxidase catalyzes hydrogen peroxide and oxidizes pigment sources to produce colored substances. Within a certain range, color is proportional to glucose concentration.

Applications

For the determination of glucose content in serum and plasma.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: serum, plasma
