The Recombinant Human HGFR Protein manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for cancer therapy and research. Hepatocyte Growth Factor Receptor (HGFR), also known as Mesenchymal-Epithelial Transition Factor (MET) or c-met, is a glycosylated receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a central role in epithelial morphogenesis and cancer development. The receptor possesses tyrosine kinase activity and is involved in signaling pathways that mediate various biological responses, including a program known as invasive growth. HGFR is typically expressed by epithelial cells, while its ligand, Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF), is restricted to mesenchymal cells. In normal physiology, HGFR is primarily expressed by stem cells and progenitor cells. However, in cancer, aberrant activation of HGFR is associated with poor prognosis. Overactive HGFR promotes tumor growth, angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels to nourish the tumor), and the metastasis of cancer cells to other organs. Aberrant HGFR expression has been observed in various types of human malignancies, including renal cell carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, gastric cancer, breast cancer, and brain cancer. Cancer stem cells are believed to hijack the normal stem cell expression of HGFR, driving the sustained presence of cancer and its spread to other parts of the body. Additionally, different mutations in the HGFR gene are associated with papillary renal cell carcinoma. Storage Information: The lyophilized (freeze-dried) form can be stored at 4°C for 24 months, while the reconstituted liquid can be stored at -20°C for 6-12 months, with a recommendation to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
