The Recombinant Human IL-2 Protein manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for promoting T-cell proliferation and immune responses.
Activated T cells typically cannot survive long-term in in vitro culture, but the addition of IL-2 allows them to continuously proliferate. Resting T cells do not express IL-2R on their surface and are unresponsive to IL-2. T cells can express IL-2R only after stimulation with mitogens or other activators, becoming target cells for IL-2. IL-2, in turn, induces an increase in IL-2R expression on these target cells. IL-2R expression on T cells is transient, generally peaking 2-3 days after activation and disappearing around 6-10 days later. As IL-2R disappears, T cells lose their responsiveness to IL-2. Therefore, to maintain the long-term growth of normal T cells in vitro, continuous stimulation with mitogens or other activators is required to sustain IL-2R expression. NK cells are the only lymphocyte-like cells that express IL-2R under normal conditions, and they remain responsive to IL-2. However, resting NK cells only express the β and γ chains of IL-2R, with low affinity for IL-2, and they only respond to high concentrations of IL-2. Once NK cells are activated, they express the α chain of IL-2R, becoming high-affinity receptors.
Lyophilized preparations can be stored at 2~8°C for 24 months. For aliquoting, they can be reconstituted with injection water, physiological saline, culture medium, or PBS. After reconstitution, divide into smaller portions and store at -20°C for 6 months or at -80°C for 12 months. The final concentration after dilution should not be lower than 100μg/mL. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
