Cell STR profiling is to establish the genetic characteristics of cell lines through STR information, and to detect whether cells are cross-contaminated or misidentified through STR identification. STR is short tandem repeats, also known as microsatellite DNA, which is a repetitive DNA sequence containing 1-6bp. STRs are widely found in prokaryotes and eukaryotes, and humans are no exception, accounting for about 3% of the human genome. Due to its polymorphism and high mutation rate, STR has been widely used in biological research and is also known as the DNA fingerprint of cells. Due to the high sensitivity, high degree of automation, accuracy, speed, and good repeatability of STR technology, STR genotyping has been used as the gold standard for cell identification.
