Introduction

Alkaline phosphatase (ALP or AKP) is an enzyme that is widely distributed in human liver, bone, intestine, kidney, placenta and other tissues and is excreted from the liver to the bile. This enzyme catalyzes the removal of the 5 '-phosphate group from the nucleic acid molecule, thus converting the 5' -P end of a DNA or RNA fragment to the 5 '-OH end. Clinical determination of ALP is mainly used in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of skeletal and hepatobiliary diseases, especially the differential diagnosis of jaundice. For unexplained high ALP serum levels, isoenzymes can be measured to help identify their organ origin.
