Analysis of Catalase (CAT) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1316-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.27 U/mL
Detection range: 0.27-155.4 U/mL
Precision: inter-lot difference of 5.1%, intra-lot difference of 5.1%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 405 nm

Principle

Catalase catalyzes the decomposition of H2O2 into oxygen and water. Ammonium molybdate can quickly stop the decomposition of H2O2 by CAT, and the remaining H2O2 reacts with ammonium molybdate to produce a light yellow complex. The activity of CAT can be calculated by measuring its production quantity at wavelength 405 nm.

Applications

It is suitable for detecting catalase activity in serum, plasma, animal and plant tissue samples and cultured cells.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: Serum, plasma, cultured cells, animal and plant tissue samples
