Analysis of ZBTB18 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0309-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: zinc finger and BTB domain containing 18
Also known as: RP58; MRD22; TAZ-1; ZNF238; C2H2-171; DEL1Q42Q44; DEL1Q43Q44; C1DELq42q44; C1DELq43q44
This gene encodes a C2H2-type zinc finger protein which acts a transcriptional repressor of genes involved in neuronal development. The encoded protein recognizes a specific sequence motif and recruits components of chromatin to target genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
