Analysis of Magnesium (Mg) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1355-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.12 mmol/L
Detection range: 0.12-2.50 mmol/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 9.9%, intra-lot difference of 4.8%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 540 nm

Principle

The magnesium in the serum reacts with the complexing indicator Calmagite to form the Calmagite-Mg complex. The absorbance of the complex at 540 nm is proportional to the magnesium concentration in the sample.

Applications

It is suitable for the determination of magnesium content in animal serum and plasma.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: animal serum and plasma
