Analysis of Nitric Oxide (NO) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1332-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.97 μmol/L
Detection range: 0.97-700 μmol/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 5.2%, intra-lot difference of 3.4%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 550nm

Principle

It is easy for NO to oxidize to NO2- in vivo or in aqueous solution, and to generate light red azo compound with chromogenic agent. The concentration of azo compound generated has a linear relationship with the concentration of NO, and the concentration of NO can be calculated indirectly by colorimetry.

Applications

For the determination of NO in serum, plasma, animal and plant tissue samples.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: serum, plasma, animal and plant tissue
