Reduced glutathione (GSH) can react with dithio-dinitrobenzoic acid (DTNB) to produce thio-nitrobenzoic acid and glutathione disulfide. Nitromercaptobenzoic acid is a yellow compound. The content of reduced glutathione (GSH) can be determined by colorimetric quantification at 405 nm.
Applications
It is suitable for the detection of GSH content in serum, plasma, culture medium, animal and plant tissue samples and cultured cells.
Procedure
1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples. 2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction. 3. Measure the absorbance of each tube. 4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.
Materials
• Sample Type: serum, plasma, culture medium, animal and plant tissue samples and cultured cells
