Introduction

iTRAQ (isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantitation), is an isobaric labeling method to determine the amount of proteins from different sources in just one single experiment by mass. This method is based on the covalent labeling of the N-terminus and side chain amines of peptides from protein digestions with tags of varying mass.This powerful new proteomics technology can reduce the potential variation in numerous mass spectrometry runs and thus enhance the precision of protein identification and quantification.
